Fishing - Great Krems hunting ground

(I/1 trout fishing district)

The Große Krems is a pure fly fishing area. Fishing is therefore only allowed with dry or wet flies. The area is predestined for beginners in the high art of fly fishing, but also experienced fly anglers will find the best conditions here. There is a comfortable access to all parts of the area.

The upper part of the route offers a beautiful view of the Senftenberg ruins. Occurring fish species are brown trout, rainbow trout and aitel.

The district extends along the Krems River from the cemetery Senftenberg to Untermeisling.

Hunting - Hunting area Niederlage

Among the main game species in the 266 hectare hunting area "Niederlage" is the roe deer, which is probably the most adaptable game species. Wild boar (wild boar) can be found almost in all regions of Lower Austria.

Mainly in the lowlands of the Waldviertel and the Pannonian steppe we find brown hare, rabbit, pheasant and partridge. In recent years, the populations have declined sharply due to land consolidation and modern agriculture. Thanks to many initiatives of nature conservation, the province of Lower Austria and especially the Lower Austrian hunting association and its hunters (Wildökolandaktion, Heckenjahr, ...) the populations are however secured.
