Health tip: wild garlic

Our immune defense calls for reinforcement

Now is the time to give our immune system a helping hand. But what is the best way to do this?

Our dietician advises: "Let's support our defenses from WITHIN, because it's tremendous what effective bundles of energy are in some foods!

And what is more suitable in spring than the BEAR'S BELL. The "wild garlic" has it really in itself, because it provides three times as much vitamin C as oranges. In 100 g of bear's garlic there are 150 mg of vitamin C. This is more than our daily requirement and therefore perfect to support our immune defenses in the current situation.

The reputation of wild garlic as a natural antibiotic is due to the substance allicin, which is responsible for the antibacterial and germicidal effect. Furthermore, the wild garlic is still attributed anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties.

Recipe tip from our dietician Verena Hut

The wild garlic is a true spring all-rounder in the kitchen. Therefore, my tip: Be creative! Choose your favorite dish and try to pack wild garlic into your recipe:

Whole leaves: stuff into roulades or put on bread (ex: between butter and cheese).

Coarsely chopped: stir into spreads, risotto or scrambled eggs

Cut into strips: sprinkle into soup, over salad or pasta dish

Finely pureed or chopped: add to pasta, spaetzle, gnocchi or bread doughs
